Terran Robotics is a construction-technology company developing automated systems for building monolithic adobe structures. The company combines locally prepared clay, aggregate, and straw with a cable-driven construction robot.[1]
Terran calls its method Pick, Place & Hammer. Rather than extruding a continuous bead in the manner commonly associated with construction 3D printing, its robot places increments of adobe mixture onto a wall and uses an impulse hammer to sculpt and tamp each layer.[2] The company identifies an Austin-area operation at Proto-Town.
